Air2Air Embraces Social Media

Now that the Internet has put the entire world on stage it has become imperative to manage not only your personal but also your company’s online presence.  The internet and your phone have become central to developing a brand and your business.  According to a poll conducted by the online ad firm JumpStart Social Media, among hiring managers surveyed, 75 percent looked at a job applicant’s LinkedIn profile, 48 percent looked for them on Facebook and a quarter looked at Twitter before making a job offer.  Conversely, a Forbes Insights survey of top executives at U.S. companies reveals that only 1 percent of those over the age of 50 provide daily contributions to a work-related blog.  Another 4 percent in this age group say they contribute several times a week.

In contrast, 35 percent of executives ages 40 to 49 say they maintain a work-related blog daily. That figure increases to 56 percent of the executives under the age of 40.

Social media is not only affecting how we brand ourselves online, it’s changing how businesses present themselves and sell their products.  With social media, businesses can learn more about their customers’ tastes and interact with them in ways not previously available.  As a result Businesses must be aware that their online channel is becoming a critical component of their identity and their marketing framework.  Unlike traditional marketing, online tools can be measured. Through their responses to e-mails, downloading coupons, and joining fan pages, customers make their presence and preferences known.  Those data points can then be analyzed which allows businesses to be more effective in offline channels.

If it all sounds like Greek to you, so it did to us here at Air2Air, but we are moving full speed ahead into the Internet, Twitter-Ville, and beyond!  Follow Air2Air on Twitter and whenever and where ever we have empty legs or seats available, you’ll be the first to know!
